We believe in coaching the “whole athlete”, focusing on training them mentally and physically. By keeping a high coach/athlete ratio, we are able to efficiently teach and reinforce skills; not only that– we are able to use games and drills to maximize repetitions. Through sport, we hope to teach values such as respect, teamwork, honesty, and sportspersonship.
Beginner: Has thrown a disc before but throws, especially forehands and upside down throws, are inconsistent. It is difficult to hit a moving target with a throw. Unfamiliar with cutting patterns and the rules of ultimate.
Intermediate: Has done a program with Elevate before and feels confident in completing all their throws 8 / 10 times from 20 and 30 feet. Understands basic cutting patterns and familiar with the rules.
Advanced: Has done multiple programs with Elevate and has played club ultimate. Understands the basics of vertical and horizontal offence, and is ready to learn more advanced topics like fade and touch throws, defensive footwork, and zone defence.
Summit: This is our advanced program for Grade 6-7 athletes. We encourage all young athletes that have played ultimate before and want to focus more on drills, skills, and fitness, to join our Summit programs. No tryouts necessary.
