How Well do you ACTUALLY Know the Hottest Buzzword in Youth Sports / Education? (Take the 2 minute Quiz)

Did you know…?

In BC alone, there are 131 Elementary schools playing and 182 Secondary schools playing. What’s impressive about these numbers is that 75% of these Elementary teams were created in the last 5 years. This is a clear indication that there is a huge demand for an alternative sport like Ultimate Frisbee. We believe this is because:

A) Kids love how inclusive and fun the sport is
B) Parents love that the sport is co-ed and self-refereed, meaning that their kids learn how to play with everyone, resolve conflicts and communicate effectively

Maybe you’ve heard of Ultimate Frisbee before, or maybe you’ve even played! Maybe your kids have even played at school, or maybe they don’t even know what a disc is. Either way, we GUARANTEE your kids confidence and skills are going to soar (like a frisbee *cue groan*) at Elevate Ultimate.

Thx for the info. Our 15 yr old daughter specifically requested Ultimate as her spring sport now that soccer is finished.
They play it for fun at Alcuin College, (North Van) in PE sometimes. I decided to sign up our 12 yr old daughter as well since the soccer season is done as of today. I googled ultimate frisbee North Vancouver as we live in Deep Cove and the commute is key for us when choosing activities. The kids have a lot of homework and need chill time to keep a healthy, balanced life. I also know that Ultimate works their whole body, is focused on fun. Additionally I want the kids to have opportunities to make friends outside of school. Soccer is go-go with no focus on connecting kids, that’s left to the kids or parents. Facilitation to get children aware of their socializing responsibilities in initiating, responding and inclusion of others is a learned skill that can be integrated into sport and more activities with careful planning and mentoring. Stepping in to leadership, supporting teammates, respectfully responding to those leading, all require mentoring, the opportunities front-loading and debriefing and reflecting. This doesn’t happen overnight and it’s most effective if it occurs positively in multiple settings. Giving back is integral to taking care of the planet and can further create intrinsic motivation.. Glad to hear about your middle-eastern work. Great job!
